Term 4 Week 2 Newsletter
Holy Rosary - Prayer

The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7.
From The Acting Principal
Dear family and friends of St Anthony’s,
Last week, our annual Athletics Carnival was a wonderful celebration of sport, teamwork, and school spirit! The day was filled with energy, excitement, and plenty of smiles as students gave their best in every event, showing fantastic effort, encouragement, and joy. Congratulations to Clare House for being the overall winning house.
A huge thank you to Nick Stacey for organising an enjoyable day, and to Nick Roberts for his outstanding work with the set-up and pack-up – a big job done so efficiently! We’d also like to acknowledge Ric, Brooke, and Frank Furfaro for their time, effort, and professionalism, which helped the day run seamlessly.
Thank you to the Riverside High School students who assisted across the events and to Kelly Greatbatch for coordinating their involvement – your help made a real difference. Thank you to Launceston Christian School for allowing us to use their oval whilst Windsor Park was undergoing maintenance.
Our appreciation also goes to our wonderful staff for their preparation and support throughout the day, and to our parents who came along or lent a hand – your involvement means so much.
Most importantly, congratulations to our students, who were the true stars of the day! Their enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and sense of fun made the carnival a great success. We can’t wait to see that same spirit on display at the NIJSSA Carnival next week.
Thank you to those who have completed the feedback form in relation to the Athletics Carnival. Your thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated and will help us continue to make the Athletics Carnival a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
We extend our best wishes to Adele Murphy, who will be undertaking a secondment with the Catholic Education Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Team for the remainder of the year.
Sincerely,
Emma Marshall

Keeping our Children Safe Online

Helping children stay safe online starts with open communication, clear boundaries, and simple safeguards at home. Here are some quick tips for families:
Talk and Stay Involved
- Keep the conversation open: Talk regularly about online safety and encourage your child to come to you if something feels uncomfortable.
- Be involved: Know the apps and games your child uses—try them yourself!
- Keep devices in shared spaces: This helps you keep an eye on what’s happening online.
- Play together: Join in online games or activities to guide and support your child.
Set Smart Safeguards
- Use parental controls: Filter content, limit screen time, and block inappropriate sites or apps.
- Strong passwords & MFA: Help your child create strong passwords and use multi-factor authentication where possible.
- Be cautious with apps: Approve new accounts and apps before use.
- Update devices: Keep all software and devices updated for better protection.
Protect Privacy
- Check privacy settings: Keep accounts private and talk about what’s safe to share.
- Be photo-smart: Ask permission before posting photos and turn off location settings.
- Avoid strangers online: Remind children not to chat or share information with people they don’t know.
- Don’t overshare: Once something is online, it’s hard to take back—share carefully.
