Term 2 Week 6
Prayer

Prayer for Reconciliation

God of all creation, as we journey together in this Great Southern Land, we pray for healing, forgiveness and unity, creating a path of good will, with justice and compassion.
Jesus, through the power of your love, you have given us the courage, wisdom and strength to share our gifts and talents in humility.
In peace and understanding we reconcile with each other.
Creator Spirit, we come together in prayer and thanksgiving for the many blessings we have received. Allow your Spirit to wash over us and give us strength to walk together as one.
From The Principal
Dear families and friends of St Anthony’s,
The National Reconciliation Week 2025 theme is “Bridging Now to Next”. Reconciliation week is an opportunity to learn about our shared histories and cultures, reflect upon the past, consider the present, the journey we have travelled thus far, and how we can all contribute to achieving reconciliation in the future in Australia.
National Reconciliation Week is an important part of the school year for St Anthony’s community, providing an opportunity to build a collective understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s, histories, cultures, and futures. This year at St Anthony’s we were lucky enough to have Bianca Templar come in and work with all our classes after our Sorry Day Prayer Service. Bianca shared her knowledge about Reconciliation with the students and upon return to the classroom they completed some art on a wooden heart with a message about reconciliation. Through participation in this activity and connection to our community we are teaching our students about the past in order to create a better future for all. Thank you to Mrs Emma Marshall, our ATSI coordinator for organising this rich opportunity for our students.
“It is not "forgive and forget" as if nothing wrong had ever happened, but "forgive and go forward," building on the mistakes of the past and the energy generated by reconciliation to create a new future.”

I hope you enjoy the long weekend with family, friends and loved ones,
Sincerely,

Futsal Tournament 2025
Students from St Anthony's proudly represented our school at the recent Futsal Tournament, showcasing great teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship. Competing against schools from across the region, our teams played with determination and enthusiasm, making us all proud. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr Stacey, Mr Ryan, Mrs Bell, Cameron Walker, and Simon French for their time and dedication in coaching the St Anthony's Futsal Teams. Under your guidance, the students not only developed their skills but also displayed outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork.

Absentee Notification
If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, please notify us as soon as possible via Compass or by calling the school office on (03) 6327 3618. When reporting the absence, we kindly ask that you include the reason for the illness (e.g. COVID, gastro, cold or flu symptoms, etc.). This information helps us monitor for any potential clusters or trends of illness within specific year levels and respond appropriately to ensure the health and wellbeing of all students and staff.
GRIEVANCES
At St Anthony's all our staff have your child's best interest at heart. However, there will be times when situations arise that may need clarification or following up. If you ever have a concern please follow Catholic Education Tasmania's grievance policy, which is available on the school webpage under the heading: Parents & Community. By informing your child's classroom teacher directly of your concern, as soon as possible, alleviates the situation from escalating, maintains positive regard for all involved and assists in resolving the issue promptly.
