Prayer

From The Principal
Dear families and friends of St Anthony’s,
As the above prayer indicates, we have and continue to celebrate the appointment of Pope Leo, praying for him, his well-being and leadership. May he be guided by the Holy Spirit with wisdom, humility and courage as he brings Christ’s light into the world. Simultaneously, we continue to recognise and reflect upon Pope Francis’ legacy and influence during his time as Pope. Ten years ago, Pope Francis wrote Laudato Si’, an encyclical that focused upon the urgency and importance of looking after Mother Earth. This is a particularly important document for us as a Franciscan school in regardspromoting and teaching our students the importance of environmental stewardship and looking after our planet. At St Anthony’s, we are blessed to have such amazing spaces for our students to explore and give thanks to those who look after them. By teaching our students how to look after their own spaces, we are promoting an awareness of the importance of doing so, creating a positive disposition and appreciation of the environment, which will serve us all well for the future. During the 10th anniversary year of Laudato Si’ let us continue to pray, hope and act on things that will create a bright future.
“Let us sing as we go. May our struggles and our concern for this planet never take away the joy of our hope.”

Cross Country
Thank you to all the volunteers who assisted at this week's Cross Country. Without your help, these events either wouldn’t run as smoothly as they do or just wouldn’t happen at all. Thank you also to those parents and grandparents who came along as spectators to encourage the students and celebrate their achievements. Whether they came first, last or somewhere in between, our students, from Early learning to Grade 6, who turned up on the day and completed the race should be proud of themselves and celebrated in their own right. A special thank you as well to our older students for their display of leadership, running several times in order to support, guide and encourage our younger students. We are looking forward to supporting those students who were selected for the NIJSSA Cross Country on Wednesday, the 11th June.
Sincerely,
Adele Murphy
Principal
Cross Country 2025
This years cross country was a really fun and exciting day. Everyone joined in and tried their very best. The weather was perfect (once it warmed up!) and excitement levels were high. It was great to hear students cheering others on, no matter what house they belonged to, which showed great sportsmanship. Clare house came away with the win with 655 points. Second, was Francis with 612 points, and then Anthony house was third with 517 points.Thank you to all the parents who came to help set up and run the day. Special thanks to Nicko Roberts for all his hard work! Thanks to all the staff for a fantastic day, and to all the students for being their best selves.

RACT Visits St Anthony's
RACT came to visit our Kindergarten to Year 4 students to teach them about road safety. The year 3-4 classes participated in the RoadSafe program and K to 2 classes participated in the Yippee! Program. Students learnt important messages about passenger safety when we are in a car and safety when crossing the road.
This method teaches the correct and safest way to cross the road.
- STOP before you cross
- LOOK to the right, left, and right again
- LISTEN for traffic coming
- THINK, is it safe to cross?
