Term 4 Week 4 2024
Prayer
Each November, the Church celebrates two feast days, which are related to each other. All Saints’ Day is a solemnity celebrated on Nov. 1. On this day we celebrate the great Communion of Saints, which includes all holy ones now in God’s full presence. All Souls’ Day is celebrated on Nov. 2 and is a day to remember and to pray for all those who have died.
From the Principal
Dear families and friends of St Anthony’s,
As we continue through this term, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the positive environment we have here at St Anthony’s. It’s truly a joy to see our students grow, not just academically, but also in their character—demonstrating respect, kindness, and responsibility both inside and outside the classroom. Our school community is stronger than ever, and I am so pleased to witness the hard work, dedication, and warmth that our students bring to everything they do.
This year, I find myself reflecting even more deeply on the privilege of being part of this incredible school, especially from the perspective of a parent. My own children, who are older and almost done with school, attended a different school during their Primary years. While I am so proud of all they have achieved, I can’t help but wish that they could have had the opportunity to attend St Anthony’s as well. The nurturing, inclusive environment, the sense of community, and the strong emphasis on not only academic success but also personal development are qualities I deeply value in our school—and qualities I wish my own children could have experienced here.
As both Principal and parent, I am continually inspired by the way our staff care for and support every student. I’ve always believed that the best schools are those that foster not only a love of learning but also a sense of belonging and wellbeing—and it’s something I see in action here every day. Watching our students interact, grow, and develop as individuals is a constant reminder of how fortunate I am to be part of such a special school.
Last week, we sent a team to the NIJSSA Athletics Carnival and they represented our school with pride and enthusiasm. We placed a respectful 7th which is a great achievement for a school of our size. But, more importantly was the encouragement that our students displayed not only for members of our team but for other schools as well.
On a more personal note, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be out on duty this week, enjoying the sunshine and seeing our students enjoy it as well. It’s a small but meaningful part of the day that reminds me of the wonderful community we’ve all worked hard to build.
Sincerely,
Jason Perry -Principal
Basketball
On the weekend of the 26th and 27th of October, St Anthony's had two teams entered in the Northern Basketball Tournament.
A great effort by all students that represented our school with pride.
Robot Man 2024
On Wednesday 30th November Prep-Grade 6 students were lucky to have a session with Steve aka Robot Man. Students used different robots: cubelets, indi and tale-bot.
Thank you so much for visiting St Anthony’s Robot Man - the students enjoyed it immensely and learnt so much about robotics and coding.
For more information on the Robotman or robots our students used please go to
Emergency Practice
Within the next few days, during recess or lunch, we will hold an unannounced emergency practice with staff and students. The purpose is to test our response to a potential scenario that warrants the school going into lockdown (opposite to evacuation).
Like fire evacuation drills, it is very worthwhile to test this process periodically.
We have plans in place to make this practice as least disruptive as possible.
If you have queries please call our Safety Officer, Katie Gardner on 0456 849 497.
SAVE THE DATE: Kinder Nativity Play
Date: Wednesday 4th December
