Term 4 Week 2 2024
The Holy Rosary
The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7.
From the Principal
Dear families and friends of St Anthony’s,
Last week, our annual Athletics Carnival was a fantastic celebration of sport, teamwork, and school spirit! The day was filled with energy, excitement, and plenty of smiles, as our students gave their all in each event, showing not only great skill but also a wonderful sense of encouragement and joy. It was this positive atmosphere that made the day truly special.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Nick Stacey, for organising the event. His commitment to making the day enjoyable for everyone was truly appreciated. Nick Roberts deserves a huge thank you as well for the set-up and pack-up—no small task, but done with such efficiency and care.
A special mention must go to Rick, Brooke, and Frank Furfaro for their time, effort, and professionalism. Their contribution helped ensure the day ran smoothly, and we are so grateful for their dedication.
We were also fortunate to have the support of students from Riverside High School, who assisted in running many of the activities. Their enthusiasm and willingness to help made a significant difference, and we are incredibly appreciative of their involvement. Thanks to Kelly Greatbatch for coordinating on behalf of RHS.
A huge thank you also goes out to our wonderful staff. Their hard work in the lead-up to the event and support throughout the day were crucial to making everything run so smoothly. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated and caring team!
Lastly, we want to acknowledge and thank the parents who were able to lend a hand or simply take time out of their day to come along and enjoy the day. Your presence and support mean so much to our sense of community.
Once again, our students were the true stars of the day. Their determination, sportsmanship, and sense of fun shone through in every event, making the carnival a memorable success for everyone involved. I know that the team that represents us at the NIJSSA Carnival next week will do so with the same enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Sincerely,
Jason Perry - Principal
Borrowing Library Books
From this term, students are permitted to borrow library books only if they have a waterproof library bag, with KIT bags being an ideal choice. Additionally, if any books are damaged at home, please refrain from attempting repairs. Instead, encourage your child to inform their teacher about the damage, and we will handle the repairs at school. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.
Socktober 2024
Socktober aims to engage Catholic school students’ heads, hearts, and hands in key issues of mission and social justice through powerful metaphors found in sport, especially the world game of soccer. This year students at St Anthony’s raised $215 to help those in need. Thank you for your support.
