Term 3 Week 10 2024
From the Principal
Dear families and friends of St Anthony’s,
I am pleased to announce that our school will be implementing an Extended Kindergarten Program next year. We have joined a select group of schools offering additional days for Kindergarten. While some schools will only provide options for 3 or 5 days, we are excited to introduce a 4-day option as well, which has proven to be the most popular choice among our parents.
Although we were already at capacity for Kindergarten 2025 and did not require this initiative to boost enrolments, it positions us uniquely within the trial and enhances our appeal compared to other participating schools.
Our program's strength lies in the significant flexibility it offers to families. Parents selecting the 3-day option can choose any three days of the week, with a commitment to those days each week. Families opting for the 4-day program can select any day to take off, as long as they maintain that choice for the year.
This initiative represents a remarkable opportunity for our school and will further solidify our status as an attractive option for families in the West Tamar, alongside our existing array of exceptional offerings.
Mr Mannion
I am also pleased to announce the return of our Deputy Principal, Paul Mannion next term. He would like to extend his heartfelt thanks to all families for the kind messages of support and for checking in during this time. Your understanding and encouragement have made a significant difference and we look forward to welcoming Paul back as we continue to work together to lead the school.
Circle of Life
Last week we had the opportunity to host Monique Hall from CET’s Catholic Identity and Evangelisation team who led our ‘Circle of Life’ sessions for all grades. I hope that these might have prompted some discussion at home because it is so important to discuss these topics with our children. Monique was extremely pleased with the level of engagement and participation from our students and went out of her way to pass on that positive feedback to myself along with a massive thank you to Emma Marshall for organising.
Sincerely,
Jason Perry - Principal

Sacrament Of Confirmation!
Congratulations to our students and parish members who completed their Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday 14th September.
Prayer to the Holy Spirit Spirit of wisdom and understanding, enlighten our minds to perceive the mysteries of the universe in relation to eternity. Spirit of right judgment and courage, guide us and make us firm in our baptismal decision to follow Jesus' way of love. Spirit of knowledge and reverence, help us to see the lasting value of justice and mercy in our everyday dealings with one another. May we respect life as we work to solve problems of family and nation, economy and ecology. Spirit of God, spark our faith, hope and love into new action each day. Fill our lives with wonder and awe in your presence, which penetrates all creation. Amen.
